| The roll was originally compiled alphabetically by township with the City of Albia separate from Troy Township. I have added a column for page number and combined and sorted by Surname/Given Name. All of the pages are written in the same hand that you see to the right. The list of eligible men for Monroe County totaled 1021 by his count, 1013 by Microsoft(Excel). I would be interested in any information surrounding the formation of the militia or the laws and mechanisms that were in effect during these times. |  |
